Although different words may be used, academic globalization is driven by 4 reasons and a dream:
Respectability -- The first two reasons are somewhat self-serving and reward-seeking involving:
- revenue generation through fee differentials
- turning the global spotlight (enhancing university ranking) on our institution particularly in the areas of research and learning.
- preparing students for life and work in the very different world that they will inherit,
- building collective institutional capacity with key international partners who share our interests in preparedness for imminent and inevitable change.
